Tuesday, August 18th, is officially National Fajita Day. What exactly is National Fajita Day? Here’s all you need to know about the holiday. Keep reading for the best places to get fajitas in Crofton, Gambrills, and surrounding areas.
National Fajita Day: The Best Queso Scenario
It is believed that the “fajita” was invented in 1930, as a quick meal for workers and their long hours in the sun. Mexican vaqueros in Texas first crafted the dish with skirt-steak, spices, pico de gallo, guacamole, and of course, tortillas.
In 1960, fajitas were popularized by Sonny Falcon, also known as the “Fajita King.” The following decade, “The Fajita King” and his kiosk in Austin, Texas, pushed fajitas into mainstream media.
Today, the dish is a staple and favorite.
