Fall into Autumn with these Maryland Pumpkin Patches

One of our favorite fall traditions here at Monarch Waugh Chapel is picking pumpkins and enjoying all of the other activities that pumpkin patches offer. Now is the perfect time to participate in this fall tradition! Visit any of these Maryland pumpkin patches to enjoy picking your very own pumpkin and drinking some cider to get into the fall spirit!

Baugher’s
1015 Baugher Rd., Westminster, MD

In Westminster, you’ll find a farm that has many different foods and activities to offer their visitors. Baugher’s has been in operation as a fruit and vegetable farm since 1904. You can visit the annual Fall Harvest at Baugher’s on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00AM-5:00PM. Some of the activities available to visitors of Fall Harvest are apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and a petting zoo. Besides these fun fall activities, you can also visit the bakery on the farm for good farm-grown food and baked goods. The price of admission for Fall Harvest is just three dollars.

Larriland Farm
2415 Woodbine Rd., Woodbine, MD

Larriland Farm is a pumpkin patch and farm that is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM- 5PM. It’s a family-owned farm that has been owned and operated by the Moore family since 1973. They offer many different fall activities, such as hayrides, which run around the farm from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. For a special hayride, you can make a reservation for the pumpkin hayride, which includes a stop at the pumpkin field for riders to pick their own pumpkins to bring home.

If you are bringing children that are 4-6 years old, you may want to bring them to the Boo Barn, which can be accessed with an all day pass and is filled with not too scary ghosts.

Summers Farm
5620 Butterfly Lane, Frederick, MD

Summers Farm first opened in 1934 and became famous for its summer festival before also starting its annual fall festival. Summers Farms grows large Atlantic Giant and Big Moose pumpkins to be picked by their customers. They also have many different types of gourds to be picked. Before you decide to pick a pumpkin to bring home, you should consider taking the free wagon ride around the patch. In addition, challenge yourself and your friends to get lost in one of the mazes. Finish your day with some cider and doughnuts at the Country Market.

Local Homestead Products
2425 Marston Rd., New Windsor, MD

Local Homestead Products was established in 2011 and started as a small produce stand and eventually became a large farm of over 100 acres. Its hours of operation are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM. 2020 will mark the farms fifth annual pick your own pumpkin patch and the farm has over 15 different varieties to choose from. The pumpkin patch is open every weekend of October. Access to the patch costs $7 per person. In addition to the patch, LHP also has a corn maze, which the local fire department will be at on October 24th and October 25th grilling food for guests of the farm.

Gaver Farm
5501 Detrick Road, Mount Airy, MD

At the age of just 17, Michael Gaver established this farm in 1978. It grew quickly, and their pumpkin business was started in 1998 by Michael’s 8-year-old son, Greg.
This farm is open from 9 AM to 5 PM daily and their Fall Fun Fest has many different activities to offer, such as a 7-acre corn maze and a mini corn maze. You and your family can also meet 12 of Gaver Farms different farm animals at the petting zoo. Picking pumpkins and the hayrides are free with the $15 admission fee per person.

Weber’s Farm
2526 Proctor Lane, Parkville, MD

Weber’s farm is the oldest farm on this list, first established in 1908. Four generations later, and the Weber’s are still pressing fresh apples and celebrating their fall harvest with the local community. Weber’s Farm Fall Harvest runs from now to November 8th from 9 AM to 6 PM. The general admission prices are $8 for weekends and $6 for weekdays. The activities included with the general admission ticket are pumpkin patch picking, Hillside slides, mini tractor ride, duck races, animal farm, maze, and Tire Mountain.
